I was really looking forward to read this book to get learn a bit more about living in the USA while being brought up with the Muslim faith. Leah’s narration is engaging and reads as if I am looking at her life as an insider, rather than as an outsider, who has not met Leah. Her strength, diligence, intelligence, and quirk really come through the stories she tells in the book. I highly recommend anyone read this book to broaden their cultural perspectives.

I absolutely loved this book. I’ve been following Leah for a little bit now so I know her voice and how she talks, and I read the whole book hearing her voice. It was like one of those late night talks with a friend where you really get into it. She made cry, get angry and laugh. I absolutely loved how she told everything as it was even if it wasn’t flattering, because she’s a whole human being, with a whole bunch of layers, and being this vulnerable is so badass
