Can your favorite hockey players finish their first season together undefeated?
Five months in, NHL forward Ryan Wesley is having a record-breaking rookie season. He's living his dream of playing pro hockey and coming home every night to the man he loves - Jamie Canning, his longtime best friend turned boyfriend. There's just one problem: the most important relationship of his life is one he needs to keep hidden, or else face a media storm that will eclipse his success on the ice.
Jamie loves Wes. He really, truly does. But hiding sucks. It's not the life Jamie envisioned for himself, and the strain of keeping their secret is taking its toll. It doesn't help that his new job isn't going as smoothly as he'd hoped, but he knows he can power through it as long as he has Wes. At least apartment 10B is their retreat, where they can always be themselves.
Or can they? When Wes's nosiest teammate moves in upstairs, the threads of their carefully woven lie begin to unravel. With the outside world determined to take its best shot at them, can Wes and Jamie develop major-league relationship skills on the fly?
Warning: contains sexual situations, a vibrating chair, long-distance sexytimes, and proof that hockey players look hot in any shade of green.

This is the continuation of Jamie and Wes' story. I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, but it was just as good as the first one. The story picks up in Toronto with Wes playing professional hockey and Jamie coaching a Juniors team. They are, as in love as ever, but their relationship isn't perfect. They still face obstacles that come with keeping their relationship in the closet as well as a few new ones that pop up throughout this story.
“The man I love. Even now, the phrase sticks in my head with near wonder. I didn't freak out when I realized last summer I was bisexual, and I'm not freaked out by it now. It's not the word man that fascinates me in that sentence, but love. The way I feel about Ryan Wesley...it's something I thought existed only in the movies. He's my other half. There's an old quote my mother once painted on a ceramic platter. Love is friendship set on fire. I get it now.”
Jamie is so easy going when it comes to adjusting to his change in lifestyle. I can't imagine it would be easy to realize you are in love with a man after only ever dating women but Jamie takes everything in stride. He knows that he loves Wes, and that it's his right to love whomever he chooses. It's one of my favorite qualities about him. However, in this book he has some struggles of his own and doesn't handle them with his usual calm demeanor. It made him more human in my eyes to see that he wasn't perfect. And Wes...underneath all that cocky confidence he is hiding so much vulnerability that just makes me love him more. His love for Jamie is the most real thing he's ever known other than hockey. It was so heart-warming to see him be the strength for Jamie in parts of this book and to see him grow. They compliment each other in every way.
“A desperate Wes is a fun Wes. I love forcing him to let go of some of that iron-clad control. One sportswriter called him: “Impenetrable. Unshakable. With nerves of steel.” I know better.”
Jamie has become comfortable and confident in his newfound sexuality and lord knows Wes has no issues with his confidence in that department so these two were smoking hot together. I'm pretty sure that I will always associate Skype with Jamie and Wes after reading a particularly steamy scene. What makes this book special though, is the balance of everything else in this story. Yes, it is sexy, but it's so much more than that. I literally laughed out loud so many times I lost count. I cried because my heart was bursting with so much happiness. I held my breath during moments when they were hurting because I felt their pain and frustration. I have to mention how much I love ALL the secondary characters but my boy Blake stole the show in all of his scenes. He is so hysterically funny that I have pretty much everything he said highlighted in my kindle.
Sometimes a book or series comes along and everything about it is perfect for a reader. Your connection to the characters is so strong that you live and breathe every moment with them. You want to crawl inside the story and live there forever. You wouldn't change a single word because to you, it is simply everything you hope for when you pick up a new book...perfection. It doesn't happen all the time but for a bookworm there is no better feeling. THAT is what Jamie and Wes' story has done for me from the very beginning. THAT is what it means to me. I believed every single word and every single emotion that the authors conveyed in these books.
Please do yourself a favor, if you've never read an m/m book before because you think you won't like it, broaden your horizons and take a chance on Jamie and Wes. In the end, this is just a love story about two people who are truly meant for one another. Make sure you start with HIM so that you really understand their story. And, if you have read HIM and aren't sure if you want to continue a story that already had an HEA, I highly recommend this book. You won't be disappointed.
This book takes place five months after the end of the first book. It explores all the challenges that come with couples who are figuring out what it means to be in a relationship beyond the sexual chemistry. Things like, who does the laundry? And who pays for what? On top of all the regular relationship strain that is to be expected, Jamie and Wes also have to deal with the secrecy of their relationship. While those closest to them know they are in a relationship, Wes has not come out to the hockey world at large about his sexuality. This of course impacts Jamie, who needs to hide under the guise of "room mate."
What I liked most about this book is that both Jamie and Wes care so deeply about each other, and are willing to sacrifice. Wes gives no thought to his career when Jamie needs him most.
Once again, the partnership between Elle Kennedy and Sarina Bowen is terrific. These two characters are one of my favourite book couples of all time!
These two get their HEA but it is certainly a rough road to the end. Try being top rookie for NHL in Toronto, trying to keep your relationship with your boyfriend on the DL so it doesn't impact your place on the team and a loud, obnoxious team mate who becomes your neighbour. What could go wrong?
There is not enough praise I can give for Him. This was such a great conclusion (well kinda semi conclusion) to Wes & Jamie's story. This was such an addictive read. I hated that work got in the way of my reading. I was so submerged in this story that I hated to tear myself away from it.
I'm so happy to see that it will continue as Good boy is next and while I don't have it yet as soon as I can I'll be one-clicking it and every one after in this series cause I can't get enough!!!

If you've not read book 1 (Him) yet, do so before reading this review.
Having gotten over the hurdles to enter their gorgeous relationship, including Jamie facing he's bisexual... this wonderful pair are living together in Toronto. Only, they're having to keep that quiet as Wes tries to reach the end of his rookie year. But life has a way of throwing curve...pucks!
This story is even more delicious than the first. I need more stars!!
Seriously. So well written. Just enough angst to make it a real page-turner, but with so much loving sweetness between these sturdy guys that it'd melt the ice they skate on.
There's a host of characters, and they're all fab.
Just awesomeness!

Their outing was believable and both guys handled things pretty well, and I loved the glimpse of the 'in sickness, in health' thing we got, though not the actual illness part. And, perhaps irritating-guy-that-you-grow-to-love might end up getting a MF tale of his own - who knows?
The tale ends brilliantly, due to the outing and everything felt entirely natural and believable. And, from nosing at the authors' info using the invitation link at the end of the book, it appears that readers will be in for a bonus tale in the series, though there's no timescale given, due to the authors' writing schedules.

I read things a bit askew having started with Good Boy which is the spin off series. Then I read 'Him' and now 'Us' - so I have spent a week with Jamie, Wes and the Canning family. Much like Blake, I don't want to leave......
This book picks up 6 months on from where Him finished and Wes and Jamie are together building a life in Toronto. Watching these two fall more in love did happy things to my heart. Watching them struggle with some things and some people nearly broke said heart.
Despite the sad parts, there seemed to be more humour in this book, largely due to Blake who is hilarious.
The chemistry between Wes and Jamie is intense and HOT. All the sexy stuff is beautifully written but nothing ever overwhelms the stunning love story that Ms Kennedy and Ms Bowen have created.
Read this series. It is worth your time, money and emotion.
