The content is pretty abstract. For a person who doesn’t have much fundamental knowledge about financial statement, it’s pretty hard to understand. Also, I can’t seem to find analogy between the examples in the book and some financial statements from online, using the same formula to test understanding. I would recommend people who has some basic knowledge to get more out of the book.

I really wanted to like this book, really. Although the concepts and explanations are clear enough for a relatively inexperienced investor to understand, the sheer repetitiveness of the author was enough to drive me to the point of returning it.

If you like the saying "durable competitive advantage" then this book is 100% for you. Each short (1-2page) chapter features this saying at least twice. If you're really lucky, it appears twice in one paragraph.

Authors, I get it. Durable Competitive Advantage, but it felt like an NLP exercise and was enough for me to return the book mostly unread. Shame.

Horrendously written, and "clickbaity" at best.. It's a shame, because the subject itself is quite interesting. But unfortunately the authors seem more concerned with making money off of Buffett's name rather than putting any effort into the book content itself. It's ripe with errors (difficult to do when covering the basics), and the authors compulsively sprinkle "Warren" and "durable competitive advantage" in what feels like every sentence.. probably to make up for the lack of substance.

I cannot believe I fell for this. Without doubt the worst book ever written regarding accounting, financial statements or Warren Buffet. each chapter is about 2 pages, each covering a different element of the accts. A 10 year old could put together a more informative book. There is no depth of analysis, no insight, just the absolute basics of accounting. and by basics I mean , basics. gross profit, / revenue = gross profit margin.
