This book has a wonderful sentiment and beautiful illustrations, except there is one section in the book that describes us as being different races. Firstly biologically this is not correct, secondly as the books main aim is to say that we belong highlighting racism as a subtle positive is not that great. I changed three words to make it read better, so that I can read this in my classroom. "Some might (come from) a different (place) ..." But otherwise, I like how it describes all the lovely things that make us different and equal.
Fabulous little book for children of all ages! In today's world where grown-ups are demonstrating and waving placards at each other; this gentle little book shows how children just 'get it'. They accept each other for who they are as individuals; ignorant of creed, colour, race, beliefs and financial status. They, and this subtly-messaged book, can teach us all a thing or two. Brilliant for my diverse brood.
Nice pictures and a wonderful message. I think it's a shame that the poetry let's is down a bit. Is it too much to ask that a children's poetry book should both rhyme and scan? However, a wonderful story about diversity.
This engaging book encourages kids (young and old ) on every page to remember, and for some of us rediscover, a simple fact in our complex world: we are amazing. Great artwork, great writing, love the book
What an amazing little book. For young children and for adults to be fair. Me and my daughter have really enjoyed this book. This book has done more than words can say for our little family. Such a big message from a little book! Love it!!
