Review
The team responsible for the Tacky the Penguin books and Princess Penelope's Parrot (1996), among others, is in rare form in this picture book, in which a swell little guy proves himself a hero to his tormentors. Wodney Wat has a problem: he can't pronounce the letter r, which makes him the butt of constant jokes and teasing. He's so distressed, in fact, that he routinely buries his head in his jacket - the closest he can come to actually disappearing. He thinks he's really in for it when"big, mean, smart" Camilla Capybara appears in Miss Fuzzleworth's classroom. But the tables are deftly turned when Wodney is tapped to lead a game of Simon Says: when he says "Go West" after a tough round of play, guess who does. Munsinger's well-detailed illustrations are superbly funny, a perfect complement to a comical story that will not only make kids laugh but also hearten those who feel they'll be outsiders forever." Booklist, ALA
"Rodney Rat, who can't pronounce his R's, is the shyest, most miserable kid in school, until one day he saves his classmates from the mean bully Camilla Capybara. Wodney's transformation from cowering to empowered is beautifully underscored in the humorous, expressive illustrations. Appealingly, Wodney doesn't need to overcome his impediment to be liked - and it's the impediment itself and Wodney's clever use of it that foils the villain." Horn Book
A shy rodent turns his defect into strength to overcome class bully and save the day. Every page is a delight in this imaginative book, which culminates in surprising word play. Energetic illustrations capture perfectly the characters of timid Rodney, the overbearing Camilla Capybara, and their rowdy rodent classmates.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.

I bought this book because my 20 month old adores sheep and loves to say “Baaa”! This book is even better than expected. It has a lot of pages and is filled with cute illustrations. Definitely recommend!

A delightful story. I prefer it in the non-hard paper. This is hard cRdboard for very little children, but even they like to turn pages that are easier to turn . The softer paper version (not the one I received from Amazon) is also in a larger size. The illustrations are very nice, and the repetition is fun for children to anticipate and recite throughout the book.

The best way to rate a kids book is too see if kids like it. This one gets top marks from our kids. The story is a wonderful way to introduce young children ages 2-5 to colours, words and emotions. And best of all, it ends with the concept of sleeping - perfect for a bedtime story. This book was given to our children and we bought it for another child because we didn't want to part with our copy. Love it. Good price.

Love this book!! It's one of my favorite books to read my toddler. Very cute and lots and lots to look at. She giggles endlessly when you finally find the green sheep. We can spend a lot of time looking at this book and learning what each of the sheep are doing

Bably translated!

Lovely little book... hmmm not so much if you want an accurately teach kids! the traslation is mostly off. Is more of an interpretation
For example: y esta obeja baila bajo la lluvia = and this sheep dances under the rain. Not this is the rain sheep !!! Totally not the same and almost doesn't make sense in English. As a bilingual in both English and Spanish i wouldn't recommend this. Unless you just want a book in Spanish and a very different in english none related!

I think it’s a fake - translation is wrong

The English translation is rubbish. It isn’t what the Spanish words are saying at all. The Spanish story is so simple how can anyone get the translation wrong unless this is a fake?

New favorite with my 18 month toddler who is selecting this book every night for past two weeks. I bought it several months ago on recommendation from the speech therapist in a chatter babies play group, but he is only enjoying it now. He loves the scene in the park with all the sheep doing different activities. When we get to the final page with the sheep sleeping, he screams to wake him up! Nice illustrations, repetitive rhyming text and good for language development.

I highly recommend this book. The illustrations are entertaining and funny,
Introduces many things such as, thin, wide, near, far, moon, star, up, down, sun, rain, car, train, scared, brave, wind, wave, and colours
But where IS the green sheep? You will have to read it to find out!
I knitted a set of sheep, including wide, tall and coloured ones to go with the book.

A friend introduced my children to this book and they now absolutely love it. The pictures are clear, the text is simple and easy to understand and there are lots of things to talk about given the pictures are relatively simple. I also like the introduction of new vocabulary throughout.
