Evy can telepathically understand horses, but she’s not sure if it’s a blessing or a curse. Her secret “gift” certainly seems to get her in a lot of trouble.
When some starving mustangs wander close to the wilderness cabin that she shares with her hermit mother, she knows she must help them.
Her act of kindness quickly snowballs into a series of events that forever change her life and the life of a very special mustang filly.
“Fantastic story in every way. I adored the characters and the setting and the adventure . . . and couldn't turn pages fast enough.” ~ Ev Bishop, Author
“Another super story from one of the best writers of modern pony books around. Angela Dorsey gives us a traditional old fashioned story of the love of a girl for a wild horse with an interesting and intriguing modern twist, and just a dash of mystery. Animal loving children of all ages will enjoy the story, whilst parents can be happy in the knowledge that the important values of empathy and integrity are being upheld. As with many of the author’s other books, this story explores an important issue – that of animal and human interaction and communication – whilst still delivering a page-turning story. Not an easy feat, but something this author is adept at. The book can be enjoyed at many levels and will keep the interest of a wide range of age groups, including adults. 4-5 HORSESHOES: VERY GOOD to EXCELLENT.” ~ Pony Mad Book Lovers

About the author

Thirty-four middle grade novels (some that haven't been released in English yet), a number of screenplays, audiobooks, published poetry, short stories, articles, and a non-fiction book for kids, plus editing, mentoring other authors, and now creating a novel (and maybe a new series?) for grown ups!
Throughout it all, Angela has done her best to make a positive difference in the world through encouraging others to find their personal power, whether they be her readers or the talented authors that she works with.
For years, her motto was an old Japanese proverb: “Fall down seven times, stand up eight.”
But a while ago, she switched to a new one, one she made up myself:
“Believe. Create. Inspire.”
First, believe you can do it, then create your vision, and finally, allow that creation to inspire.

ps. thx for writing this enjoyable book which definitly pulled me into a different world
Merry Christmas everyone

A girl aged thirteen and her artist mother live in a mountain cabin without electricity. They ride horses and watch the local bands of mustangs. But now the winter has brought deep snow, and this might be good for scenic paintings but it's no help to wild creatures in need of food.
Told by Evy, who has the gift of being able to feel the emotions of the horses, and sometimes communicate with them, this winter's tale is replete with change and responsibility; with friendship. I love the varied vocabulary and landscape descriptions. We can learn a lot about caring for horses and injuries. I thought the feeding the wolves part was overdone, but it adds drama. We are left to wonder what Evy will learn when she explores the reason why her mother never goes to town. That's for the next books. Have fun!
