The differences are subtle, but Korn (director, Center for Furniture Craftsmanship) explains them with forethought and knowledge. He examines different properties of wood, design considerations, joinery, and tools and lumber properties, culminating in the demonstration of two projects that integrate much of the information from the previous chapters. His style is open, encouraging, and slightly contemplative. Not a primer, this book is geared toward thinking about the issues. Recommended for comprehensive woodworking collections. PETER KORN is the founder and former Executive Director of the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship, a non-profit woodworking and design school in Rockport, Maine. A furniture maker since 1974, his work has been exhibited nationally in galleries and museums. Born in 1951, Korn grew up in Philadelphia, where he attended Germantown Friends School.
