I found this short and very to the point. No mincing words and no long speeches, it just gets to the point and then its over. It does have some valuable information for new screenwriters but does not go into details on how to specifically write a screenplay, just what will make a good one.

Having worked through the screenwriting classics for over a year now, I had little hope for this publication, and only 'bought it' because some website sent me a coupon. These sorts of texts begin to repeat themselves, but Rogan went full 'Jerry Macguire' and just wrote what he felt based on several years of experience and a real passion for the subject. Occasionally he writes more colloquially (read: chummy, complete with 'winks' and s***) but the overall tone and instruction are both refreshing and prescient. I didn't pay, but having read it, would do so now. Check it out.

This was a fun book to read as well as being really informative. It also took the fear out of starting to write a screenplay which I really appreciated. It maybe was a bit short on detail. I read it on Kindle and I think it might be worth while to have it in hardcopy to be able to go back and check things. I liked the attitude of this book I felt Michael Rogan would be someone I'd like to know.
