You would have to convert your .com account to .ca. Otherwise you would have to shop on the US Kindle store and pay in USD. It will not be auto converted.

Yes your amazon accounts are all linked so the books bought from .ca/com will transfer to your kindle. The easiest way to see this is go to your Manage Devices and Content / Then go to Devices on the menu bar next to Content and you will be able to click on the Kindle and see the amazon @Kindle e-mail address they have assigned to your machine. This area of the site also allows ya to see the serial number of the machine (These steps are the same on the .ca/.com sites). SO if you see your machine there on both sites, and the serial numbers match then you are good to go. If not then it is nothing at all to add the Kindle to the .ca/.com.

Unlike the others who answered I bought my first Kindle WAY back when there was only the amazon.com site, way back when Oprah Winfrey still had a TV show and was raving about the first generation kindle, which obviously prompted me to purchase one. So all of my old content had gotten transferred to Amazon.ca when they launched in Canada in 2013.

Also I still make purchases off the Amazon.com and they DO in fact now convert CDN to USD which is nice because it stops the extra % you have to pay for the currency exchange see less

I bought this Kindle as a gift for my wife so I am not totally familiar with it. She has always purchased books through amazon.ca but thinks that you should be able to transfer them over from .com
