No. the floor needs to be replaced. The smell suggests mold, so take care to protect your health. Your thin floor is beyond the capacity of this product to remedy.

Love this product, but I've only used it for wood rot repairs on outside cedar stairs, cedar fence posts & cedar picnic table. I'm not sure if it can be used for a cutting board - I'd be concerned if the ingredients are "food-safe" grade.

I've used this product for years and have always been satisfied. I have never noticed that it distorts a wood surface. I've never used it on MDF. My guess - only a guess - is that it would work on MDF the same way it works on wood.

From what I remember the mixture is very tacky and may be difficult to put into a syringe.

I suppose it does create a waterproof surface. It darkens the wood and turns it glossy. You can always use a test piece to make sure the finish is what you want. I say its worth a shot.
