From what I read, it will not work in 'reverse'. You will need a hdmi TO display port adapter.

J'utilisais sur ma TV 4k sans problème. Malheureusement, il ne fonctionne plus, je vais en commander un autre car il fonctionnait bien.

While I have no personal experience with a Chromebook, I don't see why it wouldn't work? It is not an active adapter, it is a passive cable adapter, so OS or brand shouldn't matter.

You should be good to go.

Hi. Technically it could but there is a little chance that the cable would be defected exactly like what happened to me. However, in that scenario you can return it back to Amazon and take your money back as well.
