Depends, any gaming console will prohibit you from YouTube or Netflix while using the game capture.

I am not certain about the sound but frames skipping usually means the recording was too much for the computer and skipped frames to keep recording or the computer/video player software can not display the video quickly enough for smooth playback. Check Elgato forum and YouTube videos for others with same problem.

As long as series x has a hdmi output. It will not pass through 4 k however.
