I don't know for sure, but when I claimed on a faulty keyboard, they looked into my Amazon records to see the price I paid and wrote me a check for the full amount including shipping.

No, the Asurion plan is like the original manufacturer one. It covers failures due to power surge and other mechanical and electrical breakdowns of the hardware itself. Not damage we caused like water or dropping it.

Sorry I don`t know the answer as I am assuming it was for a protection plan for some toy I had bought for one of the grand kids.
I hadn`t kept record of it.
