I’m thinking Amazon doesn’t want to cut into their e-book sales by allowing Overdrive or Libby in Canada....but an Amazon Fire tablet does allow those apps for reading library books in Canada. Go figure.

When Wi-Fi is unavailable, free 3G, paid by Amazon, allows you to connect to the Internet, but with limited access. In a nutshell: You can access the Amazon website and browse and download books, and you can access Wikipedia. The Free 3G is available in many countries around the world including Canada.

Prime members have unlimited access to hundreds of romance novels, thrillers, and more in Canada. You can read up to 10 books for free through kindle unlimited too. A huge selection of classics are also free on kindle. It makes no difference whether you are using amazon.ca or amazon.com.

You would have to convert your .com account to .ca. Otherwise you would have to shop on the US Kindle store and pay in USD. It will not be auto converted.
