You can snap it back on but it doesn’t stay. I sent the ones back I bought because my 2 yr old grandson broke it

Probably a hair dryer heat it up and take it off is what I would try.

yes, it does. and make sure when you lock it again there is no one inside the room cause if you lock it they can't open the door to come out.

I put on the side of the door I want to keep the child away from. Meaning, out of my room, lock on the outside of my room. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to get in if it's locked.

It works well. Just don’t put both tongs down and close the door from the inside. It will lock you in
