It says that but I used it in the bassinet as my little one was really tiny and likes to cuddle so we used it in the bassinet and has no issues whatsoever

That bottom part attaches to the rest by velcro. You are able to switch it from bottom to top (inverted), and you can adjust it but not too much because the velcro parts may not stick depending on how far up you go. I hope that's understandable.

When I started to use mine I covered them with a receiving blanket so I wouldn’t have to wash them ,I wouldn’t put the whole thing in the washer,But I think they’re made well enough to put them in the washer in on a gentle cycle I’m not sure about the dryer
