If you are streaming from an android device I recommend you search you tube for Dongle Adapter installation. I had to sign into Google Home in order to install the Screen Mirroring Ap

Would you mind following the steps below to reconnect chromecast to solve the problem you are experiencing?

1. Plug all the cables in the device(please connect the usb cable to a 5V/2A charger)
2. You would see a blue screen, open your phone and search the wifi name: MiraScreen XXX, then enter Password: 12345678 (the wifi name and password please refer to the blue screen on your TV)
3. Use your phone's browser to search the address 192.168.203.1 (it has shown on your TV screen), Click "Internet"---Find your home's wifi name---Enter password.
4. Go to the WiFi setting interface and switch to the same name. Tap on AirPlay Mirroring, select MiraScreen as target, then done.

This device ONLY cast/mirror what you see and ear on your phone to your tv. It will not run Spotify by itself, you need to run and keep running Spotify on your phone.

The only thing that this thing ‘’ do’’ is mirroring your phone screen… so its doesn’t make your tv smart i recommend you to not buy this… you going to waste your money for nothing. Buy a fire stick or roku

It needs to connect to wifi to enable the screen cast but its ONLY for that. There is no 'player' built-in. You use your phone to play your files and then cast your phone screen to the device. That's all you can do.
