Everyone has secrets.
Iris and Will have been married for seven years, and their marriage is as close to perfect as it can be. But on the morning Will leaves for a business trip to Florida, Iris' happy world comes to an abrupt halt. Another plane headed for Seattle has crashed into a field, killing everyone on board, and, according to the airline, Will was one of the passengers.
Grief stricken and confused, Iris is convinced it all must be a huge misunderstanding. Why did Will lie about where he was going? What is in Seattle? And what else had he lied about?
As Iris sets off on a desperate quest to find out what her husband was keeping from her, the answers she receives will shock her to her very core.

This book started out great. A loving husband, Will, who is trying to have a baby with his adoring wife, Iris, leaves for a business conference in Orlando, Florida. Later in the day his name is found on the passenger list for an airplane which crashed near Seattle. Instead of the airline advising her, she hears it from a friend who heard his name on the television during a news report about the crash. Thus begins Iris's nightmare.
Pretty soon, she is meeting people who tell her stories about her husband she never knew. Stories like he was on that plane to attend an interview for a job in Seattle. Turns out he was from Seattle and not the deep south as he had told his wife. Nothing was as she once believed. And then secret messages appear. She wonders if Will is still alive.
Why didn't I love this story or even like it. Well I did at first. It was astonishing initially, then it became wildly improbable until I found it totally impossible It went from the sublime to the ridiculous but I did finish it reluctantly.
The ending crashed and burned like the flight to Seattle.

I’ve read a few books from Kimberly Belle and I’m always pleased, this story line was great, characters were well developed and same with the plot I just wish Iris found out more regarding Will because I did find it a touch slow, the story did keep me engaged but I just wish more happened. Overall great read tho

I thought this was a well paced psychological thriller that kept me interested throughout.
Iris and Will are a happily married couple. Will leaves town to go on a business trip and was on the manifest as a passenger on a plane that has crashed. Will was supposed to be going to a conference in Orlando so why was he on a plane headed to Seattle? Iris soon discovers that Will wasn't the man or husband that she thought he was.
I would recommend it as a suspenseful story.

I really enjoyed this book. It kept me wanting to read fast to get to the end and an answer. It kept me believing and then not believing the story. All in all a good read.

A brilliant read that will have you gripped from start to finish!

Hooked by just reading the blurb for this book, I couldn’t wait to get stuck in. This is my first book by Kimberly Belle and it certainly won’t be my last. An enthralling page-turner with amazing twists and turns that will leave you wondering how well you know your own partner?!
Iris is in a love bubble with her husband Will, things couldn’t be better. Happy in her job, living in their dream home and trying for a baby, they are the picture-perfect couple. Unfortunately, their bubble is very quickly burst when Iris gets the worst phone call of her life, informing her that Will has died in a plane crash!
Iris is not only distraught, but she is very confused. Will was meant to be flying to Florida, but the plane that crashed was heading to Seattle! Why would her husband lie about where he was going? We follow Iris as she digs deeper and deeper into her husband’s past, revealing secrets and lies, she soon realises she didn’t really know her husband at all!
Fast-paced with a maze of twists and turns, this suspenseful story had me reading into the early hours. Whilst I did predict parts of it, this did not affect my enjoyment of the book. So much happens in this story that I never tired of reading it and couldn’t wait to pick up my kindle every chance I got!
I loved Iris as a character, she felt very real and my heart broke for her at times. However, she also came across as a strong, determined woman and I was rooting for her every step of the way as she didn’t give up in her quest for answers.
A shocking and suspenseful read with a fantastic ending! I highly recommend this book for lovers of psychological thrillers!

The Marriage Lie

I did enjoy The Marriage Lie by Kimberly Belle. It was the first book by this author I have read. I felt like it lost momentum in the middle of the book slightly but overall it was quite a fast paced story.
Iris is happily married to Will. He leaves for a scheduled business trip to Orlando and Iris goes on with her day. When she hears a plane has crashed killing everyone on board to Seattle and that Will was one of the passengers her world collapses around her.
Why was Will going on a fight to Seattle when he said he was going to Orlando? As Iris looks in to other parts of her husbands life she realises that wasn’t the only thing he lied about.
I would recommend this book and I have already downloaded another book by this author.

Ending sort of saved it

Spoilers - I started off really liking this book but then got bored very quick, there wasn`t much point to it to be honest, I mean why did this man use a plane crash as an excuse to run away from his wife and fake his own death why not just disappear, the way she adored him she probably would have gone with him if he had told her what he had been up to anyway, I found the whole book far fetched and pointless but the end sort of saved it as she finally came to her senses and now he will pay for his crimes

I think the best way of getting across how I felt about The Marriage Lie is to tell you that as soon as I finished the last page, I immediately went onto Amazon and bought her most recent book Three Days Missing then also popped her other two books on my wishlist for later! This is one of the most gripping books I’ve read this year and I became completely immersed in the plot from the very first page so I was hugely excited to be able to buy another of her books to read!
Iris and husband Will have just celebrated their 7th wedding anniversary and are trying for a baby. But when Will has to attend a convention, leaving Iris at home, the last thing she expects is for him to be killed in a plane crash -especially as the plane wasn’t the one Will was supposed to be on! That one little lie leads to Iris wondering if she ever really knew her husband and her investigation into his past throws up a side of him that he kept very much concealed from his wife.
I love discovering new authors and Kimberly Belle is definitely now on my radar! Her strongly plotted and fast paced narrative sucked me in completely and I struggled to stay away from this book, reading it into the wee small hours of the morning, needing just “one more chapter” before I went to sleep. Needless to say I didn’t stop till the end of the final chapter because it was just so darn good!
The constant revelations, the shocking twists plus the depth of the emotional drama played throughout meant that I never really knew in which way the plot was heading as it hurtled towards its climatic ending. And that ending was absolutely brilliant, a perfect punch to the gut that I wasn’t expecting!
I thoroughly enjoyed The Marriage Lie! It was a multilayered exploration of one couples relationship that kept me guessing from start to finish. Highly recommended by me!
