I read other reviews about inconsistency of weight limits. The instrucions and box olabeling my item were consistent at 110 lbs or 2x 55 lb bikes. I'm mounting 54 lb and 46 lb bikes for a total of 100 lbs. My only issue with assembly was that the two left and two right wheel brackets both have the same directional mounts. To have each curve upward would require them to mount forward on the bars. The only solution was to have a right and left on each side. Someone will probably point out that I can't read but ithe assembly worked out just fine.

This is a nice bike carrier. There are a couple parts that could have been more quality. The lock pins have to be replaced for more sturdy ones if taking on a long trip. Otherwise, if you are just using it locally, you will find this an acceptable item to haul 2 heavy e bikes. UPDATE: Oct 2022. This carrier does not disappoint.
Like anything, it will behoove you to secure all sections before a road trip. use common sense. it is not one and done and nothing is. This company was very responsive, and I think this company deserves intelligent positive reviews. As others have noted, I would not use velcro straps. I use straps. We use bungee cords on most parts on the road. But, I do this on every bike rack. If you have an expensive bike, which you would if you are buying this rack, take care to secure it and ensure all nuts and bolts are properly tightened. Things vibrate loose just like old age body!

My old Hollywood rack finally died so I replaced it with this one of similar design. It had a couple of features I especially liked, particularly the integrated locks making the use of an additional security strap optional. The handle is also a nice touch. My only complaint: assembly was quite difficult. Some parts fit so tightly that a mallet and lubrication were necessary to get them together. Some of the instructions were confusing, although there is an online video demonstrating assembly. But overall it appears to be well-made and functional.

As others have stated, the actual weight capacity (per the pamphlet in the box) is only 45lbs per bike, not the 55lbs claimed on the Amazon site. However, I can tell you that it'll hold up if you occasionally carry a heavier bike. My bike is 60lbs and there's no flex on any of the parts when loading. I don't drive far with my big bike though.

There is some wiggle even after tightening up the anti-wiggle bolt for the hitch. The movement comes from the tilting hinge on the carrier. Not really a concern because it doesn't move much. I leave the hitch on all summer and it never loosened up the hitch bolt and aside from paint wear, there's no noticable damage on the parts.

Overall, I'm very happy with this carrier. I can haul my mountain bike, cargo bike and recumbent trike on this carrier. It's served it's purpose well and I've had no problems with it!

I am very pleased with how this rack locks. The padded hooks with locks that hold the bikes down are great.
I was initially not pleased at how the rack wobbles from side to side. Then I retightened the screw on which the upright post hinges, the one on the rear bottom. It is now much better, less wobbly.
Also warning: The instructions tell you to screw the small triangular clips onto the bottom ends of the two arms BEFORE you slide the bike supports onto the arms. You cannot do this. Slide the bike supports on to the arms first, THEN screw the little triangular clips on.
Another complaint: The name of the company is cast into the handle, which makes sharp corners and edges where your hand goes. Not the best design. I am going to wrap tape around that.
Otherwise the quality is good, and the rack appears sturdy. I really like the locking features and, again, the upright arms.
