Jason wakes up in a mysterious world of magic and monsters.
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil.
He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.
After cementing itself as one of the best-rated serial novels on Royal Road with an astonishing 13 million views, He Who Fights with Monsters is now brought to you in professionally formatted audio.

Nearly all because there are quite a few spelling and/or grammer issues that could be cleaned up. Noticing then took me out of engagement for a bit while I decipher what was meant to be written.
If you're looking for a new litrpg, I recommend giving this one a shot.

The story is engaging, the characters are well fleshed out and the world building is excellent. I loved Jason as a character and it was nice to read a book where the main character in a portal fantasy isn't suddenly massively overpowered compared to everyone else. There was plenty of action and laugh out loud moments as well as plenty of unexpected twist and turns. I would definitely recommend giving it a go.
Now for the I have to say against the book. Which admittedly isn't much. While I appreciate the book not beginning with a long, boring rundown of the MC's life story and just jumping straight into him waking up on a new world at least a little background would have been good other than his ethnic heritage, as I do find it a little farfetched that someone in their early to mid twenties would have such in-depth knowledge of the exact position of the earth's continents and the exact locations of certain countries well enough to draw a comparison as to how this new worlds landmasses are similar and yet dissimilar from earth's, but again this could just be me being overly picky.
The only other issue I have with the book is an issue I have with other books in this genre is that there is a lot of re-explaining who recurring side characters are almost every time they come into the scene, this to me feels a tad unnecessary and just seems like it's being used to have more words on paper.
Oh! And some of the later chapters could have used a bit closer inspection on editing, just some missed words or bad sentence structure.
And thus ends my somewhat lengthy review. As you can see, assuming you have taken the time to read this, I have given the book a 5* rating, as I feel it completely deserves it considering just how much I enjoyed it and was unable to put it down, the issues I have with it in no way impact how much I enjoyed reading it and I highly recommend you to pick it up!
I am very glad I gave this book a chance. The writing style is great, the book flows, the main character has some strong opinions he brought over from earth, isn't too stubborn to admit when he is wrong and seems willing to listen to others. He is personable and, as he says, "can do people". I look forward to reading more in the future.
