LOVED this book! A perfect whodunnit with just the right amount of subtle wit, spicy intrigue, and delightful Victorian details. Also some great emotional arc payoff for side characters, that long-time fans of the series will appreciate. If the series goes on for another 21 books (fingers crossed!) this will still be a favorite. Major kudos to Sherry Thomas for always finding fabulous fresh takes on beloved classic tropes.

I have read every Charlotte Holmes books and have told friends and family how smart and clever this series is. I eagerly wait for the next one and was excited to purchase this the day it came out. Sherry Thomas writes about multiple people on a huge ship and lots of cabin locations and other places on board. It is absolutely so confusing to figure out who is where and at what time. There is very little writing about Charlotte and Mrs. Watkins. It’s mostly Lord Ingram and the Inspector talking to witnesses and taking notes. I do not recommend this book. It just isn’t the Author’s usual masterful writing. Very disappointed.

I love this series of mystery/romance novels! To have Sherlock Holmes reimagined as the creation of the brilliant and eccentric Charlotte Holmes, an unconventional woman of the late Victorian era and Watson not as a plodding foil for her brilliance but a woman who is a kindred spirit and supporter is supremely satisfying. In this particular installment I didn't for one moment suspect the culprit. Ingenious!

I love this Series and couldn't wait to read Book 7. Charlotte Holmes has to be one of the most unique characters invented. This book had so many characters, and so much going on, that I had a little trouble keeping what was happening straight. That only distracted a bit, as I still was pulled into the story and I never guessed the murderer. It's fun seeing the progression of the main characters, especially Charlotte.

Charlotte, Ash and team did it again in this book. This author keeps the twists and turns coming as in the prior stories. Charlotte is still in hiding but never stops sleuthing. Moriarty is also continuing his work behind the scenes. This is the type of story that is hard to stop reading. What is next for Charlotte? (I also loved Livia working on her independence from her parents.)
