Harlan Coben is a writer of compelling thrillers, and I am a longtime fan. There have been a couple of disappointments for me lately, but I am glad I purchased this one. Its premise was remarkable, and the plot was driven by suspense and tension. This was a whirlwind ride, fast-paced and compelling but also farfetched and implausible. If you can suspend disbelief, you will be riveted in anticipation of the outcome. There are many twists and shocks along the way with violence and brutality. The plot and characters were memorable. I enjoyed this one and had my doubts about how a satisfying ending could be achieved. Recommended, especially for those who love Harlan Coben crime thrillers.

"I Will Find You" is a riveting thriller. David Burroughs was convicted of the murder of his three year old son Matthew and is incarcerated in a prison in Maine. In the five years since he was imprisoned, David has always denied committing the murder but has refused to see visitors. He agrees to see Rachel, his former sister-in-law, who shocks him when she tells him that she believes Matthew is alive.

With some assistance from the warden and the warden's son, a policeman, who are family friends, David escapes from prison, and David and Rachel work together to reveal the truth.

A great read.

I thoroughly recommend this book. While it compelled me to read further, it managed to rattle my nerves so much I had to force myself to put it down and continue later. The story line is complex with various twists and turns and satisfying happy moments. Harlan Coben is definitely one of my favourite authors and has yet to let me down with his writing abilities. I look forward to reading more by him.

Every new Harlan Coben novel comes with a heightened level of expectation for me, as I have loved every one but this has exceeded everything I expected. I finished reading it mere minutes ago and I am still breathless; it was the most intensely emotional and exhilarating book I have read in a long time. Harlan Coben is my favourite living writer because of the way he creates such ordinary, normal characters and propels them into the most extraordinary situations - never going so far outside the reaches of reality as to make things farcical. He creates characters that are absolutely real; they have imperfections but we love them and we root for them and we hold on to them right to the very last word and now, if I could, I'd be phoning some of these characters up just to say 'hello, how are you?'.
I can't wait to have this book in real life to read it all over again, and am grateful to NetGalley for approving me for an advanced copy simply so I can tell every thriller lover out there to buy this and wish them as much joy as I have had in reading it.

I don't think that Coben was completely on form when he wrote this one. 400 pages of very large print text and lots of dialogue (some of it - between the two FBI agents - almost puerile), it didn't feel like it had the substance of his other books. I almost didn't buy it because I wasn't sure that I could cope with a story about a father who had killed his son; which almost certainly meant that we were going to learn that he hadn't (but I'm not saying whether he did or not) so, to me, the story line was a bit far fetched. Not to mention the photo showing the boy at the park ..... one in a million .....

S P O I L E R A L E R T In my opinion Mr Coben hasn’t given us a great thriller in a while and this book hasn’t change my mind. David’s character was only half formed. His back story was patchy. The author claims to trim away the fat by starting the story in the middle and doesn’t waste time with excessive descriptions but it still felt that the first two thirds of the story were slow and then hastily wrapped up in the final third. Except that questions remained and plot holes were left open. Max and Sarah were irritating to say the least. Good cop/bad cope is a tired old trope but just when their skills were required they disappeared only to reappear in the final chapter. Suspend disbelief and you might enjoy the book. But I’m sure most readers will be disappointed and wonder if they should have spent their money elsewhere.

I'm half way through this diabolical, boring, tedious book. Its the most unrealistic silly read ever. There are two FBI investigators called Max Bernstein and Sarah Jablonski they are like characters out of Alice in wonderland, not people you expect in Cobens books. I have really tried to finnish this, I just can not be bothered. So another expensive book taken to charity shop. Ugh.
