Has a major drawback...
Reviewed in Canada on October 26, 2020
The 4th generation Echo has big sound, yes, but with a major drawback... When playing music on full volume, the Echo’s microphone is masked by its own volume output. The result? Yelling at Alexa to manage your music, or to perform any other task. Of course, you can turn down the volume manually, but doesn’t that negate the point of having Alexa? I’m returning my 4th generation Echo in favour of an Echo Dot. Better to have a powerful Bluetooth speaker across the room, paired to a Dot. Everything can then be managed by talking to Alexa, whose microphone can hear everything you’re saying.
