Best for older children - I find the parts about factory farming too sad to read to my little one, plus the text is fairly long. Each section talks about an animal / group of animals and describes their characteristics and then talks about the conditions they are raised in for food.

Personally I would prefer a book that focuses on loving animals instead of the dark side of factory farming, but this book is definitely educational - so if that's what you're going for, it does do a good job! Beautifully illustrated.
