Like another review said, the handle only opens while turning one way. To unlock with the key, you turn key left. You want to then smoothly turn handle left with key in, but the door doesn't open. You have to turn handle right. I bought for a shed, so it's all good. I wouldn't recommend for a busy entryway. It is half the price of a home depot one though. Deadbolt seems normal.
