I wanted a shoulder bag for wandering around downtown - it's awkward going into shops with a big photo backpack. This AmazonBasics bag gets great reviews so I decided to give it a try.

First of all, I wouldn't call it a large bag - it's more like a medium. I don't think you'd want to carry a much larger bag on your shoulder anyway. The interior storage space is quite large although if you're carrying a full frame camera and more than one or two lenses you might have to get creative. This bag is probably best suited to crop sensor or mirrorless cameras. Build quality is better than expected for the price. Some reviewers said the stitching was shoddy but it looks very solid on my bag and the outer fabric looks very durable. The inner lining doesn't look as durable as the lining in higher priced bags and I suppose it could wear out over time. One design thing that kind of confused me is there are two top lids. The first one zips into place and then the top top lid is held down by velco and snap fasteners. I didn't quite understand the need for two lids.

Bottom line, if you're looking for a very affordable camera bag that is durable, has lots of room for smaller camera bodies and lenses, this bag from Amazon would be a very good option for you. At this price, even if you just want something protective to store extra gear in it's a good buy.
