Customer Review

I have been very enthusiastic in learning and hopefully practicing aspects of first people’s culture. In the chapter “Burning Cascade Head” the author writes “To have agency in the world, ceremonies should be reciprocal cocreations, organic in nature, in which the community creates ceremony and the ceremony creates communities. They should not be cultural appropriations from Native peoples.”
The last sentence seems to suggest quite strongly that a non-native person should not try to adopt native ceremony. That sounds exclusionary. I was disappointed.
