I've bought Timberland boots before in the past and have found that personally, I've had to order half a size to one size up in order to fit them properly (I normally wear a size10 men). This Mt. Maddsen Mid WP Hiking Boot I had purchased was a size 11. It seemed about right based on my past experience with Timberland boot sizing issues. It turned out this boot was actually big for my feet (even with thicker socks. Adding Sole linings made it too squishy to wear comfortably. In this case, a size 10 or 10 1/2 would have sufficed). Aside from it being slightly bigger for my feet, it is waterproof & kept my feet dry & warm on a rainy day & in walking through a muddy open field. Looking back, I probably should've checked the other reviews on size fit more carefully. Will have to be more careful next time around.
