I had to install it on the wall in the chicken coop because it arrived with broken feet, and I can't seem to contact anyone about it. I have 2 sections to my chicken coop that I use to separate the big hens from the small silkie chickens (3.5 months old). After installing this heater for the silkies, they still nest by the door beside the hens because they prefer the red heat lamp. It does have a heat that comes off of it, and would be good to heat up a smaller space, but to get the heat in my coop, the silkies would need to be within a foot or 2 of it. Overall, the heat lamp warms up more space, but is more dangerous. This heater is safer and heats up less space. The design is sleek though!
