ADATA in their infinite wisdom have made it so that a firmware update will wipe your drive. I have had many SSD's before this from OCZ to Samsungs that all kept my data intact for firmware updates.
The included software is decent but utterly useless for the one thing you need it for which is firmware update. there's a long winded procedure to update the SSD which includes needing a USB drive and downloading the firmware separately and some other stuff that I'm not too savvy with so I have left it as it is for now. its a great drive for games and so on but i dont think you should be using this as your main drive. I dont have anything critically important stored on the drive and neither should you.
