Very strong debut. This book gripped me instantly and kept me engrossed all the way until the end. It follows three siblings, children of a dead emperor, and their individual adventures. While one is raised by strict monks, another trains to become a special forces, and the third has to maneuver court politics and get justice for her dead father. All three are interesting characters with room to grow and develop in future books. The setting is likewise quite interesting and the writing style is very vivid without becoming too verbose.
