This book is a great introduction to learning and improving on your social skills. For someone who doesn't have much experience or is not too comfortable with having conversations, meeting new people, building rapport, this book can be very helpful. It is a classic for a reason. Some of the stories can be fun to read as well.

However, I am putting a 4 star because for someone who is more experimented or anyone who went into some form of sales training might not find this book too innovative. Of course this book was published in 1936 so ''innovative'' is not what should be expected of this book. I also believe the fact that since so many people have read this book and that its tricks are taught in so many training programs, it makes some of the learnings to be outdated or not as effective. For example: it can be very easy to notice people using some of this book's tactics and it can potentially appear as inauthentic, not realizing that the people around know exactly what you're trying to do.

I recommend this book to :
- Young people, especially those entering the marketplace
- Introverts trying to develop social skills
- People that are not good at small talk
