Good but not his best
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on March 10, 2011Verified Purchase
Gregory Burke is my favorite play write. His characters are so real they could have been picked off the street, and their always brilliant and hysterical, he is one of the best black comedy writers around. The straits is a good read no doubt but it lacks the punch that have made Burke so well renowned. It just seems too tame, like he's written it with a straight jacket on (no pun intended). I don't know if this was because it was originally written for radio and was his first and he had to be careful, it feels like that.
