No shit, there I was on the first night of a week long camping adventure starting into a new book. A book I was under the impression contained various short stories of adventure and/or suspense. No such luck. The stories within this collection all revolve around a similar, out of this world aspect. Fantasy, witchcraft, aliens, etc. This genre of writing does have an audience, it’s too bad this book isn’t marketed to them, either by title or in the description. Even the cover illustration leads a reader to imagine an outdoor/adventure lodge type of setting and the stories told within such a scenario, but no.
Over a weeks time, with no other real reading material I did attempt to read each story, I finished two of them. I’m certain there is some fine writing by the various authors that contributed to this collection, for those who like this type of material. The marketing of this book does them a disservice.
