About the Author

Aviva Gittle wrote her first song at age seven and first poem at age 11. "Mort the Fly" which she wrote in 2005, was her first self-publishing project in 2013. Since that time, she has published over a dozen children's books, with many more to come. Aviva also hosts The Gittle List, a contest exclusively for indie authors of children's picture books. She now lives in Houston, TX. close to her family, including her two smart, handsome, and talented grandsons, Louis and Vince. (This is a grandmother's completely unbiased assessment.)

Hi, my name is Aviva Gittle and I love to tell stories. Stories about flies who wear shorts, kittens who talk to snakes, and kids who do crazy things. Like turn into a bagel or try to bounce to the moon on a trampoline.

Aviva Gittle stories are professionally illustrated by artists all over the world, including: Carlos Brito in Brazil, Andres Cornejo of Argentina, Jennifer Chappell in the USA, and Tekla Huszár of Hungary.

I also partner with great story writers and editors, including British author Mark Megson. Mark and I wrote Moon Jump, Mary's Magic Word, and Snack Attack!

Aviva Gittle Publishing offers many great stories including Mort the Fly, Kitten & Butterfly, Gatito y Mariposa, In Nana's Arms, and Moon Jump. Most stories will be available in both English and Spanish. To keep current on new books and other Gittle news, follow me on Twitter: @AvivaGittle. Visit
