It's probably an age thing (mine, not his) but I do find David Greig's plays so heavy on stage directions that I seriously cannot imagine how they would ever be staged. I suspect that he writes from a film perspective but with the expectation that a director will figure it all out somehow. He does write absolutely crackling good dialogue, however, and always has something interesting to say.
