This is my second purchase from the MyExcelonline books. I am rather disappointed in the false advertising by Amazon stating that you get a PDF version of the book You DO NOT get a version of this book in PDF with this purchase. You do get what is already a free ebook from the website. The book is good for beginners. But as has been mentioned in other reviews on here. You can get a deeper insight of VBA on YouTube for free and with a deeper explanation of what the code is doing instead of a copy and paste. The authors who have taken considerable time to put this book together I give 4 stars. The contents on the other hand I only give 3 stars as there is no context to the book other than screen shots. Sorry Mr Hong and Mr Michaloudis. I will be going with Bill Jelen in the future for my go to reference books.

I was very excited to get a hold of this book, I’m trying to be more efficient with Excel and has high hopes for this book. Unfortunately it looks like the author is better at marketing than content creation. Themacros in the book actually work but very few of them could I ever see ever being useful. Most of them are thighs done in vba that can be done through other Excel tools or formulas. Each macro listed starts with a question, “What does it do?” Answer: highlight all of the errors, then has the actual vba, then a screen shot of the results. Sounds pretty good so far, however this is where it starts to show signs that this book is poorly written. Instead of a detailed explanation of what or how the vba works, there are 2 pages of large screen shots detailing the same pasting of the vba, see my images. Essentially this book is elongated because of the extra repeated screen shots. Literally every macro begins with step 1 is the exact same screenshot and many times step 2 is also the same screenshot. This was either done intentionally to extend the length of the book or by an author that has no faith in the reader’s ability to follow steps which repeat in literally every macro in the book. These pictures are 4 macros I flipped to randomly, I don’t cherry pick these photos. There macros themselves seem pretty basic I would say there are better macro books out there.

I wouldn’t recommend this book. I am very disappointed.
