About Matthias Holweg
Matthias is a professor of operations management at the University of Oxford's Saïd Business School.

His current research focuses on the evolution and adaptation of process improvement methodologies as they are being applied across manufacturing, service, back office and public sector contexts. He is also interested in the evolution of manufacturing footprints, risk and flexibility in supply chain networks, as well as the changing nature of how manufacturing firms compete.
Prior to joining Oxford he was on the faculty of the University of Cambridge and a Sloan Industry Center Fellow at MIT's Engineering Systems Division.
