About Dani Quattrone
Dani Quattrone is an Ecuadorian-American writer, wife, mom, yoga teacher, and the author of “In The Year 2020”. Dani currently lives in Houston, Texas with her husband, two toddlers, and their dog, Nugget. From a young age, Dani has been passionate about two things: making a difference and writing.
In 2017, Dani founded Buddha Belly Yoga—a health and wellness brand and blog designed to make a difference in people’s quality of life through yoga, movement, and positivity. Buddha Belly Yoga was the perfect way to satisfy Dani’s passions as she was able to make a difference in her student’s lives by way of her yoga classes and write about her journey and experience through her blog.
After becoming a mom, Dani’s entire life changed. Wanting to spend as much time as possible with her son, she scaled back her teaching schedule and stopped writing. Something about this beautifully chaotic time in her life left her uninspired and confused as to where she wanted to take Buddha Belly Yoga next. As she worked to discover her new identity as a mother and how it would fit in with her other passions, she realized they didn’t need to be separate entities but rather she could do both. By simply going through her own journey and sharing it, she could motivate and empower new mothers who were also struggling to find their new identity. And so, the Buddha Belly Mama blog was born. Finally, Dani had found her love her writing, again.
Three weeks before the pandemic, Dani and Matt welcomed their second child. Having to stay home indefinitely, Dani was given the unexpected gift time; time to heal, time to rest, time to bond, time to enjoy and, most importantly, time to reflect. As she saw the entire world fill with angst, uncertainty, and fear, Dani saw something more beautiful emerge…change. She saw that in this global pause, something had reset in the heart and minds of people; something that brought them together to make meaningful social and environmental changes.
To Dani, it was this something what the year 2020 was all about. It was this something that inspired Dani to write her first children’s book, “In The Year 2020”. So that when we look back and think about the year 2020, we don’t focus on the obvious challenges we faced individually, but rather how we collectively conquered them and evolved.
