To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
This is a little gem bouncing with energy and the author’s passion for her subject. Full of useful nuggets on psychology and their application to improving mental health. The book is unpretentiously written, and backed by solid evidence-based research. It is a ready go to book with neatly arranged sections on contemporary psychological problems, with cognitive, abnormal and positive psychology blending to provide a unique perspective. Prevention as better than cure is a common theme, and the author’s mission to democratize access to psychological education is inspiring. At a minimum, it is full of stories and anecdotes to drop at cocktail parties, at best it is a treasure trove of contemporary psychological issues that whet the appetite for further research.

Of all the personal dev books, this one is special. She challenges current day therapies with acute insight that delivers concise, actionable, and smart strategies to dissipate even the most minute issues you may subconsciously harbor. A perfect resource for those who are *proactively* consigned to transforming into a better self. I got me new tools to appreciate my life and self a bit more.
Heard the author on the radio and thought she made a lot of sense. Bought the book and yes it makes a great deal of sense and is helpful in suggesting ways with dealing with many emotional problems that are difficult to find a way through. I am pleased I bought it.
