To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Feathers failed to interest me as a reader or as a teacher. I read it as part of the NM Battle of the Books selections and this slim volume took five days to finish as each line had no meaning, the book had no coherent plot, and no questions were really answered. Frankly, I am shccked that it won any kind of recognition.
This opinion is not mine alone. Every student who has read this book has despised it. Our school librarian despises it, and other teachers have also found little to recommend.
The book is vague and drifting and the characters seem one dimensional.
There are books I don't like personally, but I can see the literary value. Feathers has neither substance nor literary value, and your money would be best spent on another book.
