5.0 out of 5 starsAmazing Book
Reviewed in Canada 🇨🇦 on March 6, 2023
This book is so sweet. The book itself is great quality and the story & pictures are beautiful.
I bought it to read with a 5 year old child at my child care centre to support him after the sudden loss of his grandfather. He really enjoys the story!

2.0 out of 5 starsI was disappointed
Reviewed in Canada 🇨🇦 on November 23, 2022
After reading glowing reviews, I purchased 2 copies to give as gifts. I have a Montessori program and I am always looking out for excellence in children's books. I found the story a bit off-putting. The ending seemed jumbled and not cohesive. I really do not care for the illustrations. They are too simple and cartoonish.
I will not be giving these as gifts.

It was damaged! I’m so upset, as it was a gift for a child who recently lost his father.
What can you do to fix this?

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not download the kindle version

This is a charming book, a lovely story and something I really wanted to own a copy of. As there is such a long delivery I thought 'ohh kindle' but am so disappointed, this book has not been formatted at all for kindle. Pages that need to be viewed side by side aren't, there are no options to change font or layout and it is quite unreadable in kindle format. Honestly, I was thrown off by the poor order and hard to read font, there is no way that I could read this with a child. This is so disappointing, clearly just a money making opportunity to have a kindle edition and I am very sorry I wasted my money and even more sorry that I can't now share this story at this very difficult time.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disturbing

This was suggested by Amazon as a book for single parents. However it is a book for single mums and as mentioned by other reviewers, father's are ignored completely. This left me feeling very uncomfortable as a separated parent who's ex tried to alienate me from our daughter. I can't put my finger on it but it the story and messaging felt odd and somewhat unhealthy.

1.0 out of 5 stars Teacher-Mother gives this a BIG thumbs down

As a children’s book fanatic (Primary teacher and Mom) I was looking for a book to help my young sons deal with their Grandfather death. This book had great reviews so I purchased it but I fail to see why it has such a great reviews. In truthfulness, I hate the message. I’d rather be open and honest with my children about their feelings than lie to them and say they have an “invisible string” connecting them to loved ones. Avoid this book. If you are dealing with loss I highly recommend “Always Remember” instead. And if your loss centers around terminal illness and/or cancer also choose “Ida, Always.”

I love the content of the book, but the actual book is damaged. Would like very much if the seller replaced it. The book looks as if it got wet. Ends are curled.

The story is sweet, but the quality of the book and the illustrations are really bad. I would not recommend this book. It’s the worst quality children’s book I’ve seen. My 3 year old never asks to read it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Apparently, the invisible string only connects a child to their mother, not their father.

Apparently, the invisible string only connects a child to their mother, not their father.

Very disappointed that this book does not include fathers at all. Children love their fathers and want to feel connected to them too.

My daughter is dealing with the loss of her grandfather. My therapist recommended giving this book a try. My 5 year old didn’t like it. As soon as I said “the end”, she turned to me and said “mommy is this book fiction”?
