This is what learning to read should look like

The last thing these books need is another 5 star review but here it is anyway! I got these to help teach my daughter to read. She turned 6 at the end of December and is in grade 1, but I have been homeschooling this year. In kindergarten and preschool her teachers had great difficulty teaching her because she gets frustrated easily and has a lot of issues with anxiety. She is also a perfectionist, and anyone with kids with similar attributes will understand that it is quite a challenge to teach a child with that mix of personality. Anyway, I was feeling a little bit annoyed with the reading materials I had picked up thus far as well as what was included in the curriculum packages I have.
My friend mentioned Bob books to me and I had someone never heard of them. I picked up the beginner and advanced beginner boxes and WOW. This is exactly what I would expect learning to read to look like - and frankly this is what learning to read used to look like. My daughter has been building great confidence with reading and I can finally see light at the end of the tunnel. The books are a great size, not too long and not too short, with each book focussing on a particular sound or grammatical cue (for example, question marks). Each book also incorporates sounds and cues from the previous books so the reader is constantly building and retaining their reading ability.
I most definitely recommend these books for early readers.
