very funny story, great for learning about autumn, rhyming words etc Using Google, you can get loads of story aids for this book, to promote ideas of sequencing, colour, autumn. and why not make a story sack to go with the book. perfect for 3-6 year olds to share with an adult.
Very cute story! I bought each of my students a copy of "There was an old Lady who swallowed some leaves". My class made a craft that went along with the story. We made the old ladies head and legs. We taped a zip lock baggy to the tummy area. Tapped a long craft stick to the back and turned the lady into a puppet. Made pictures of the objects she swollowed and as I read the story students put the objects inside the baggy. Kiddos not only loved the story, but the craft as well.
LOVE-LOVE-LOVE Lucille Colandro " There was An Old Lady..." Collection-Series.
(And as you can see from my reviews, I am on my way to collecting them ALL!!!)
Children -- from preschool through elementary -- ( on up ) love these books too! The rhythm & rhyme adventures truly encourages my readers to read ... And I must say ... these books engage and fill my "struggling-readers" with pride!
