Great book and summary for interview preparation

It covers all the essential topics with a brief summary of the key concepts and a collection of typical questions that we can work on with suggested solutions provided. Surely it cannot cover all the details of every concept due to the length of the book, but it provides the framework indicating the directions where we can fill in the knowledge gap ourselves, instead of spending more efforts figuring out what we are missing. Very helpful for preparing for interviews!

Great book but only in physical form?

I would honestly give this book a 3 star review, only if I were able to buy it from Amazon in digital form. The book is filled with useful prep questions that are no different from a majority of other interview prep books out in the world. Where this book gets interesting is that they have an online class you could take alongside the book (something that I haven't done yet).

Side note: not everyone has the space nor capacity to have a library full of books...... I honestly had despine my copy just to scan it into my favorite e-book reader.... which the physical book now is being recycled into something more useful..... like a census form or a voting ballot.

If you expect "Cracking the coding interview" for Data Science, you will be rather disappointed. The book is a decent overview but highly superficial (which is fine, it's a lot of topics). Unfortunately though, there's quite a few errors both in the examples and solutions to exercises. You cannot really trust it, which is a shame.

I found definitions of practice problems to be imprecise (especially the probably section) with some solutions to be clearly wrong. Otherwise the breadth of topics covered is decent, but very little depth. You will likely need other referential material to go along with it. The best use for this book is to scope the topics, so you will be paying mostly for the table of contents.

5C Tip: When solving problems, do not assume that your solution is wrong if it doesn’t match to authors’, but independently verify it first (eg google it).
