This book is so good! It came in good condition and when I started reading it, I can't take my eyes off of it. It's a great book, and I totally recommend it. SPOILER! I would've rated 5 stars, but I rated 4 instead because of how terrible Matt is.

This is everything I've ever wanted in a f/f romcom. It's a retelling of Much Ado and is so effortlessly funny and sweet. I loved it.

I love how it feels real. There is more to the story than just the romance which makes it feel believable. While the outcome isn't "perfect! all the goals were accomplished and dreams came true" it is indisputably a happy ending. Out of the ten-ish lesbian books I've read this is my second favorite. (Behind 'her royal highness')

I have been reading this kind of stories for the past months, but this one is too repetitive for me. Spoilers: this whole staging declarations of love make no sense. There are too many characters having too much attention, I even think the first couple that got together was more interesting than the main characters. Not sure if I'll finish it, honestly. I have 20% left and I already know it's going to be only 5% of actual interesting information. HOWEVER: maybe if you enjoy making movies and that stuff, you may find interesting the whole sub drama.

for the enjoyers of tropes: this is a lighthearted romcom with rivals/enemies to lovers dynamic, the main relationship is f/f with one of them being bisexual and the other being a lesbian.

this was a lovely read. very light and fun and cute. it’s definitely young adult so some people might not enjoy how the characters act, but i really loved how they’re written and the things they have to go through. this is the sweet sapphic love story that i would’ve loved to have as a teenager, and i’m grateful that i got to read it now. emma and sophia spoke to the 15yo me that longed for some understanding and acceptance from myself and from others. i’m happy this book exists, that young sapphics might get to read it and see themselves in this love story.

This was one of those books that doesn't take itself too seriously and almost feels a bit meta. It was a nice read that was just full of those cutesy feel good moments, plenty of tropes, and I honestly really appreciated that I wasn't left with those slap your head why-did-you-do-that moments. My only issue with it was that the the main outward conflict of the story felt a little too open ended. Over all a really fantastic book, not groundbreaking emotional turmoil, but a comfortable read to curl up with and enjoy your afternoon.

SPOILERS

The entire conflict with Matt felt hollow with me. Did it make sense? Yes. Was it handled appropriately? No. I get that they were mad at him but then he just disappears, there was no closure with what he did. Every group of friends I know, the minute someone would have done anything similar to that, we would have talked about it and discussed if we would allow them to hang around us anymore.

Sure, the change of heart both main characters have, after their friends spin their plot, feels contrived and more than a bit rushed, but completely in line with the original text.
