A timeless, all be it antiquated classic

I've always wanted to read this, but was hesitant because of the corny title. It was a good read, by no means life changing though. It's not that the advice is bad, but society has changed so much since the initial writing that a lot of the methods described in the book are going to ensure you are a doormat your whole life. I kept thinking to myself while reading, "man I wish OTHER people were actually like this." I just don't really feel like this added any value to my life.
