To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I highly recommend this devotional book to anyone, as it presents God as one who can be trusted. Each chapter has a tie to the NT and Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith and it will touch your heart.
This recommendation, however, comes with one caveat – though occasionally the author mentions repentance, many times the author ends with a sentence like “All” that is needed or required is faith, a quite liberal Christian position. “Faith alone” may be a Calvinist church creed, but it is not a word sequence found in the Bible leading to salvation. Our declaration of righteousness does not come by "faith alone" (James 2:24) The book of Acts that records the apostles leading Jews and Gentiles to Christ is a more accurate picture of what should be the normal experience of the spiritual Christian birth for all who put their faith in Jesus Christ and become His disciples. We walk by faith -- in our confession of faith, confession of sins and repentance, baptism by immersion, the receiving of the Holy Spirit -- and a life of obedience to a generous and great God with compassion and service to others. That the way of salvation and discipleship is misleading, I give it a 4 star rating.
