This series is amazing. The books are high quality and provide information geared to children on the various topics featured in the books. The artwork in these books is detailed, beautiful and captivating for children and adults alike. When this series was used in our kindergarten class, the children enjoyed them very much and they led to different inquiries and ‘research’ projects. Beautifully written and illustrated!
Both of my boys found this book interesting. I loved how this book gave more than one example of plants and seeds on a page; there were examples of favorites for everyone. Not all seeds look the same or have the exact same story. The watercolor art took me in but the words helped us understand more.
I gave this to my daughter for her 6th birthday to extend the series she already has authored by Dianna Hutts Ashton (An Egg is Quiet and A Butterfly is Patient). My daughter loves this book just like the others. She really likes comparing the seeds in the beginning of the book with what plant/tree they turn into featured in the back of the book. Definitely encourages a sense of wonder and appreciation for nature. And they are beautifully illustrated books!
