I really loved the images when I first saw it - very clear and simple main element yet has meaning with its colors and background imagery (and I liked that there were vivid colors throughout with no borders). And the guidebooks have a great theme, there are 2 for dawn & dusk depending on whether you're wanting to read for starting something new or wanting to let go of something. So you get to choose how you want to read and interpret the cards. I really liked that as well as all of the imagery and color used. It also just seems like such a simple and down-to-Earth deck and theme yet contains so much more when you start to use it.

I was not impressed by the cardstock. Having two guidebooks might be a great idea but I found it more confusing than anything else. I usually resonated with one but not the other, so I ended up not using one of the guidebooks. I just didn't like this deck at all. Hard to work with intuitively. I prefer (by far) my Woodland Wardens.

So this popped up on my amazon home page and I was immediately drawn to it. I decided to give it a try on that whim, and WOW. The art is beautiful, I love the card stock, I love the two separate guidebooks. This is going to be a regular staple for me, even as someone who is not usually especially drawn to plant symbolism.

Undoubtedly the deck is beautiful. I am not too much a fan of the two book system as I often feel both meanings could be put in one book on different pages. I find it a bit more cumbersome but the books are beautiful and a good size compared to other Liminal 11 guidebooks.

At first I found it hard to find the page to correspond to the card I pulled but the main way is to use the number on the image of the card in the book. Using the name or season results in frustration. In the guidebooks there are no keywords to make it quick to grab meanings and learn them. With all of this I put the deck down for a while. I got called back to it recently after many months to use them to close or open a reading for others. They also work as daily pulls as one or more cards.

What I will say is that the writing grows on you and you can always find a clear message with a little bit of history or story above the meaning of the card. So if you read it like a story and learn the narrative of each card then it is great for advice and picking up energy for any reading. The images on the cards also gently tip off your intuition based on other included symbols, colour and composition. This book has some of the info that I wish my Herbcrafter's tarot might have had. So overall it's a very beautiful and flexible oracle deck that you can grow into with time spent with it.

Me gustaron bastante los mensajes, son bellos y concretos. Cada carta tiene dos interpretaciones diferentes, entonces se puede elegir el mensaje que mejor resuene con la pregunta o la tirada. Las ilustraciones son divinas, es lo que más me gustó! Los dos libros ilustrados a color y la caja de muy buena calidad, original y con detalles que mejoran la experiencia.
El único pero que le pongo es que, a comparación de otros oráculos que tengo, estas cartas se me hacen de baja calidad en cuanto al cartón. Son difíciles de barajar, se doblan con facilidad y se pegan constantemente unas con otras, es incómoda esa parte y baja la buena experiencia al usarlo

Positiv gesehen, die Karten sind wirklich wirklich schön. Aber je mehr man sich mit den Karten oder den Texten in den dazu beiligenden Büchern beschäftigt, desto unbrauchbarer wird das Ganze.

Kritikpunkt 1.)
Die Texte sind - wie auch schon in anderen Rezensionen beschrieben- in den Büchern fast schon gegensätzlich. Als Beispiel Feverfew. In Dusk sagt der Text zur Karte Feverfew sinngemäß: Reiche anderen die Hand, helfe Menschen in deiner Umgebung, sei großzügig! In Dawn: "Don't surrender your progress for the sake of being nice. Be ready to protect yourself and everything that you've worked for."
...
Man kann die Bücher also nicht simultan benutzen (erst für eine Einschätzung der Situation, dann für einen Vorschlag, wie man praktisch damit umgehen kann.) und es ist sehr schwierig sich die Bedeutungen der Karten zu merken.

Kritikpunkt 2.)
Das Deck ist in Jahreszeiten unterteilt, die in vielen Fällen keinen Sinn ergeben. WARUM ist der Crocus im Herbst? Hätte der Frühling nicht sehr viel mehr Sinn ergeben? Die Kornblume hingegen ist im Frühling (Blütezeit eigentlich frühstens Juni. Aber eigentlich Juli bis Oktober.). Das wäre doch ein Kandidat für den Sommer gewesen. Es macht keinen Sinn. In den Texten steht auch nichts, was diese Zuordnung rechtfertigen würde. Und es gibt noch mehr Karten, bei denen ich die Augenbrauen hochziehe.

Kritikpunkt 3.)
Die Karte des Pfifferling heißt einfach nur Mushroom. Als ob alle Pilze gleich sind und die gleichen Assoziationen hervorrufen. Als ob Fliegenpilz und Champignon in einen Topf geworfen werden können. Dasselbe bei der Karte "Citrus". Ist die Zitrone gemeint? Orange? Pomelo? Orangenblüten haben andere Bedeutungen als Zitrone. Aber auch hier. Alles ein Topf, alles eine Bedeutung.

Kritikpunkt 4.)
"In Germany it is encouraged for a bride to sew mustard seeds into the skirts of her wedding dress so that she may maintain strength and power in her new household." --> Noch nie davon gehört. habe versucht es zu recherchieren, aber nirgendswo auch nur einen Hinweis in die Richtung bekommen. Falls das JE eine Tradition war, ist es jetzt keine mehr. Aber ich bin nicht sicher, OB es je eine war. Möglicherweise ist das auch einfach falsch. Mir kam das komisch vor, weil es eine angebliche deutsche Tradition ist, aber jetzt hinterfrage ich jede Anekdote in den Büchern.

Kann ich das Deck empfehlen? Hmm... nein. Eigentlich nicht.
Die Karten sind hübsch. Ich werde jede einzelne Pflanze recherchieren und eigene Bedeutungen notieren und die Karten in Bezug auf die Jahreszeiten modifizieren. Aber das ist ganz schön viel Arbeit und ich wünschte, ich hätte es nicht gekauft.
